Years 4 and 5 - Miss Geyser
Hello and welcome to our Year 4/5 class page!
Our class teacher is Miss Geyser, who is supporting the children’s learning.
We work closely with the other Year 4/5 classes and enjoy learning together as part of the wider Year 4/5 team. We have had a really positive time settling into the class, and have an exciting year ahead in the Autumn Term.
We can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this year and look forward to lots of exciting learning ahead!
Topic
Autumn 1: Changes In Time
Our Autumn 1 topic is Changes in Time. This term, we will be exploring the question:
Does change always make life better?
We will be learning about how people, places and communities change over time from our own growth and wellbeing to the development of Cardiff during the Industrial Revolution and the change from Tiger Bay to Cardiff Bay.
Homework
The homework for Year 4/5 will be a homework grid that will be sent home to support our topic learning on Changes in Time. Each week, children should choose one activity from the grid to complete. These activities are designed to reinforce classroom learning while encouraging creativity and independence.
In addition, weekly reading books matched to your child’s reading level will be sent home. Please support your child with their reading as often as possible. Children will also bring home a book of their choice from our lending library, which they can enjoy reading with you for pleasure.
Children will have Maths homework uploaded onto Sumdog which will relate to what they have been learning that week. Spellings will also be sent home every Friday for children to practice.
