Croeso i Dosbarth Traeth and welcome to our class page!
I'm Mrs Roberts, one of the Year 1 class teachers here at Fairoak. I'm delighted to welcome you to our class page. We will be working very closely as a Year 1 team and we are lucky to share the support of our wonderful Teaching Assistant Ms Geach.
Here you'll find all the key information you need about our Year 1 team – including updates, learning focusses, notices and important dates. If you ever need anything else or have any questions, please feel free to send me a message through Class Dojo, and I'll be more than happy to help.
The Year 1 team are really looking forward to all the exciting learning, exploring and achievements ahead of us this year.
This term, our topic will be Change in Time. We will be exploring how ourselves and things around us, such as plants and animals, change over time. Pupils will have many opportunities to share and talk about their learning and engage in practical learning experiences indoors and outdoors. We are also planning an educational visit to enhance pupils learning through real life experiences.
As part of our science learning we will investigate the properties of materials and what factors can cause them to change, as well as exploring animal life-cycles.
We look forward to a busy and enjoyable autumn term of learning.
Pupils will take home their book bags every Friday. These must be returned to school on Thursday, ready for books to be changed on Friday. Inside the book bags, you will find either:
These are for your child to read and practice at home throughout the week. Pupils will also have the opportunity to choose a book from our Lending Library to enjoy and share with family.
For maths practice, pupils have access to their own Sumdog accounts, where they can complete activities linked to maths skills we are learning in class.
If you need any support with homework or accessing Sumdog, please feel free to message me on Class Dojo.
