Welcome to Acorn Class Page!

I'm Mrs O'Malley, the Acorn class teacher and I'm delighted to welcome you to our class page. In our classroom we are lucky to have the support from our Teaching Assistants, Mrs Wheeler, Miss King and Mrs Taylor. Our Speech Therapist, Sam Williams, also supports us.

Here you will find all the key information you need about Acorn Class – including updates, notices and important dates.

Topic - Belonging/Evolving Technology

For the first half of the Spring Term, our context for learning is Belonging. We will be exploring what belonging means to us, thinking about the people, places and communities. As part of this, we'll also be exploring our local community.

During the second half of the Spring Term, our Context for Learning is Evolving Technology. We will be exploring how toys have changed from the past to the present.

Speech and Language Support

During your child's time in Acorn Class they will be part of a small class provision supporting the development of their Speech and/or Language.

We are very fortunate to work closely with our Speech and Language Therapist, Sam Williams. She visits the class every fortnight and works with the children individually. We review and update individual speech targets regularly.

During the day the children will participate in a variety of interventions according to their individual needs. We also support the development of speech through using Makaton and cued articulation.
