Welcome to our Year 6 class page!
My name is Miss Parfitt, and I am the class teacher. We are also very lucky to have Mrs Asfar supporting our learning in the mornings across Year 6.
We work together every day, with the other Year 6 class and enjoy learning together as part of the wider Year 6 team.
We can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this year and look forward to lots of exciting learning ahead.
Snack
We are a Healthy School and encourage children to make healthy choices.
Children are advised to drink water throughout the school day and bring a named water bottle to school.
At break time, children are encouraged to bring fruit and/or vegetables for snack to support healthy growth and concentration.
Physical Education (PE)
PE takes place every Wednesday.
Children should wear their PE kit to school on this day.
Hair should be tied back and jewellery removed.
Our Context this term is 'Belonging', where pupils will explore Wales. Pupils will have the opportunity to learn about its rivers, mountains, coastlines and coastal paths and Wales' landmarks. We will also explore where Welshness wanders across the world, looking at countries such as Argentina, America, Canada and Australia and the Welsh communities within these countries.
This half-term, I would like the children to focus on their Maths skills and complete Sumdog practice at least 3 times a week for 10 minutes. This will help support and progress their core numeracy skills and help with their learning in their daily Maths sessions.
