Year 2 - Mrs Wilson

Welcome to our Year 2 class page!

My name is Mrs Wilson, and I am the class teacher. We are also lucky to have Ms Tuck, Ms Norman and Mrs Broadway supporting our learning across Year 2.

We look forward to what we can achieve together this year and look forward to lots of exciting learning ahead.

In Summer Term we will focus on two topics, 'Sustainability' where we will be looking at the environment and how to care for it, this is a Geography-focused topic and we will look at different ecosystems, such as the oceans and rainforests. We will also explore the subject of 'Diversity' this term, learning about different religions, traditions and celebrations around the world. This term, among other things, we will also engage in an Arts Week Project, raise money for Refugee Week and compete in our first Fairoak Sports Day!

Homework

Pupils will be given a reading book which is changed weekly on a Friday and will also have access to the class lending library where they can choose a book to share with their family.

In numeracy, pupils have access to their own Sumdog accounts to practice their maths skills through online games and activities.

Pupils should also regularly practice correct letter and number formation and the reading and spelling of high frequency words.
