Fairoak Primary School

Nursery - Mrs Phillips

Welcome to Fairoak Nursery,

My name is Mrs Phillips and I am the Nursery teacher at Fairoak. Together with my teaching assistant Mrs Rathore we are very proud to offer a warm and safe learning environment.

We aim to encourage your child's natural curiosity and eagerness to explore and create, and we do this through a stimulating environment that sparks children's interest and imagination.

We would love to show you around our nursery, so please feel free to contact me and I can arrange for you and your child to visit.

Many thanks,

Mrs Phillips

Our Nursery Curriculum

I would like to warmly welcome you to our Nursery. We are excited about the term ahead and as a Nursery team we are looking forward to getting to know the new children and also you as parents/carers.

Our role at Fairoak Nursery is to provide our children with experiences and environments that are meaningful and relevant to our children’s interests.

It is important for us to ensure that the learning environment provides consistent opportunities for:

  • play and play based learning
  • being outdoors
  • authentic and purposeful learning
  • physical literacy

We ensure that our children develop and progress in their literacy, numeracy and digital competence skills. When planning learning experiences, we ensure that our children have opportunities to apply, develop and extend these skills.

As a Nursery team our role is significant in creating safe environments, modelling a joyful approach to learning and encouraging and supporting natural curiosity.

The curriculum we follow includes the The Five Developmental Pathways and these five pathways are fundamental to the learning and development of all young children. They have been developed to ensure that children can be supported to make progress at their own pace and in their preferred learning environment.

The five developmental pathways are:

  •  belonging
  •  communication
  •  exploration
  •  physical development
  •  well-being
